DAZZLED

I have tried to get back to blogging and life seems to always get in the way but at time things happen and I loop back around to my blog again.  It is like a creative force simmering in the back of my mind.  First let me say that it is a process of relearning my programs and how to take photos in SL, and it is not like riding a bike.  There is so much to learn and do that at times I find myself shying away from it.  Also I sometimes discover that I am not 100% happy with every photo so if this blog updates later it is because I have fretted over the shots.  Second I want to say that this blog is dedicated to Kenadee, a very kind woman whose creative force is overwhelming and I would be surprised to find a woman in SL who does not own at least one pair of her shoes.  I met Kenadee when I needed some assistance and she presented me with amazing customer service.  Being a CSR, Store Manager, and marketing was my career in SL for many years and I have very high standards when it comes to customer support.  Kenadee surpassed them all while being kind and generous the entire time.  Through the conversation we discovered we have many things in common and it was very nice to just have a chat when both of our lives was focused on working in SL.  If you have never discovered REIGN I suggest you take the link at the bottom of this blog and do so immediately.  In fact start with what I am wearing, the REIGN Dazzled Set Gacha that is available at N21. I discovered many amazing items in this set and when I put on several of the pieces it made me feel like a blinged out Wonder Woman!  I am giggling...seriously I should have made myself a gold lasso to wear with it!  The detail, texturing, and jewels in these creations are amazing and this completely plays to my love of shiny things, my friends say I have SADD, shiny attention deficit disorder.  Apparently I am known for shopping with friends and suddenly yelling "Oh look!", only to be discovered looking at shoes or jewelry.  Yes because of this my REIGN folder is massive much to the frustration of Riots wallet.  In these photos I am wearing the gold set which is made up of several rares but trust me when I say that a complete set in any color is well worth the time, effort, and lindens to acquire!  I will provide a link to the REIGN Flickr at the bottom also so that you can get a better look at each piece as there is more then what I am wearing here.  I hope you all enjoy the new round of N21 and fall in love with the REIGN Dazzled Set as much as I have.  I wonder if Kenadee would make a gold lasso?

I wanted to do a shout out to Genesis Lab also in this blog.  I am wearing the Sofie bento head that is at Epiphany in their Luxury Dream gacha.  Riot hates gachas but went and won this head for me because he knew I wanted it.  I am also wearing the Paola natural skin applier from the Paola Skins & Cosmetics gacha that is at Kustom9 which I won myself.  Yes these are gacha rares but again both are worth the expense. MP is a great place to resell the extras and make some of your lindens back after you play the gachas.  The hair I am wearing is an old gacha from Exile called Dancing on my own that is discontinued and I could not find it in my blondes at all.  I was just about to give up when I refreshed my search and several popped up.  I rush to purchase it only to find that it was my own daughter Phedre who had it listed on MP.  She had 3!  I called her in skype and she was actively listing her products.  This is such a cute hair that I feel really lucky to have acquired it.  Yes my daughter gave me my color. Oh if anyone has this in the blacks and want to sell let me know! Okay time for the styling credits!  Have fun playing those gachas!

SWOON WORTHY

Okay so I decided to take some photos and play with the settings in SL some more. I am not sure how I feel about the results. Mixed I guess.  I promised to let it be known when I alter a photo, so on these I did sharpen them in my program. I then played with them to add some brightness, warmth, and trimmed them to size.  I honestly feel that they are not the best but I will continue to learn and grow.  I have been delving into Strawberry Singh's tutorials hoping to absorb knowledge.  Here is hoping effort and time pays off in good photos.  Anyways on with the focus of these photos.  What this gorgeous man is wearing and my new shoes.

So it has been stated to that I should be the woman who blogs about men's clothing in SL from the woman's standpoint.  Actually this is not a bad idea.  First be warned I will not always photograph or blog the latest item, some creations are indeed timeless.  This wonderful man who has me in his arms is a cherished friend and he is indeed a sharp dresser.  I have to say that the Peak suit from Deadwool he is wearing is just sexy. This suit when worn in a full package of excellence is sensual.  It is sexy in that subtle I am going to possess you, undress you, worship your body, all the while smoking a cigar and drinking brandy way.  Let me swoon a moment here.  Okay better, but men must understand it takes more than a good suit to make the man swoon worthy.  It takes a good body, skin, shoes, hair, and above all else how a man presents himself.  I guess it depends on what a man is looking for in SL will dictate if he bothers to make effort.  No matter what if he wants a real woman then he better be a gentleman and understand that real women not only expect respect, we demand it. We give respect and yes we all want that man that when he logs in fires up our IM and says hello beautiful. We also expect our man to put in just as much effort into his avatar as we do. Okay back to the look. From a woman's standpoint this suit is a must have in every man's inventory.  When you go to purchase it do not cringe at the price because it is completely worth every linden spent. As you can see my friend pulled together this full package of excellence and indeed is swoon worthy.

Now on to my shoes.  Miamai is back from a little time off and hit the grid with a new pair of pumps called Across the Board Pumps. These pumps are for this round of Shiny Shabby and are made from leather, wood, and little metal toggles.  They transcend easily from casual, to business, and ultimately to a night out. It is hard to place these is one category because they work so well with so many different looks.  I styled them in a boho outfit and they fit perfectly.  Then I went for a more business look and again they fit perfectly.  Ultimately I liked how they had this modern edge to them and paired them with the items that came from the collaboration of Ison and Rowne.  I took it a step further with a metal jewelry set from Miami and opted for a shaved look in homage to Annie Lennox.  Yes I will admit to collecting her music and respecting her ability to always remain a powerful woman.  All together I love this look and will have to play some more with the items I purchased from the Ison x Rowne collection.  To my understanding this collection is being removed from the grid and once it is gone, it is gone for good. So drop everything and go to Ison and Rowne now.  Well I hope everyone has had a great Monday and I will be back soon.

Empty Streets

It has been so long since I did a blog I am not even sure if I remember how to blog!  So here we go.  Taking pictures in SL has changed so much at first I was overwhelmed and thought I was insane to try again.  However blogging is like a drug.  The styling of the outfit, finding the pose, hunting the location, and then finally taking the photo is almost a compulsion.  I sat for a moment and wondered why I had stopped blogging in the first place.  I know a huge part was event and designer demands preventing me from blogging what I preferred and honestly allot of the items I blogged I did not even like.  I think it showed sometimes.  Anyways I realized what a creative outlet this was for me and suddenly I missed blogging.  This need to blog started to grow in me slowly.  Little comments here and there from my friends about how my outfit needed to be shared.  Strangers suggesting I blog again.  Finally it was the moment when I had styled this outfit that I took the step back into blogging.  The photo is only cropped to size and untouched.  That was something I hated from before, the time spent fixing designers little bloopers in my programs so that the items looked right.  I did not enjoy it and a comment from my friend Mire was part of why I had stopped blogging, it made me sad and would not leave my mind. "You are as bad as those creators who present their items in a manner that is a lie and trick naive people like your sister Brie into buying crap."  My sweet sister Brie is famous for this and she is such a kind soul it really cut me deep.  Anyways time does heal and it made me realize that if I work on a photo in my programs I am going to say so.  I felt this was a fitting photo as a blogger coming back.  I feel that I was naïve before, now I am slightly jaded, a little bit cynical, and hopefully wiser.  I also feel as if I am walking empty streets alone.

Sometimes a look comes together without effort.  Something sparks it and the next thing you know you are done.  Well black cowboy boots painted with colorful flowers did it for me.  I was at The Chapter Four which is a monthly sales event.  I often forget about all of the wonderful little sales markets you can find around the grid, but today I was reminded.  So off I run to see what is there.  I land and immediately am loving the hobbit hole style of the build.  I quickly look over the designers, but I know Chapter Four has those dang gacha machines. A gacha machine is in my opinion one the most wonderful and yet awful creations to come out of SL.  Goddess knows I have happily dropped thousands of lindens into designers pockets hoping for one item.  So like a gambling addict I almost run to the Gacha room.   I try to wait patently for the pictures to rez in and then ones does, before me are the cutest cowboy boots by Coco Designs.  I really wanted them!  I feed the machine and promise myself only once.  I wait and then the boots land in my inventory.  FIRST TRY!  To say I was happy is an understatement.  Now the rest of the room is rezzed in and I saw the fringed bag by Moon.  I had to see if I could get it in Midnight to match my boots.  Again I promise myself once and only once.  I feed the machine and I get a rare.  Dang it I did not want the rare!  I know everyone wants the rare but I really wanted the midnight bag.  So like all good addicts I say okay just once more.  I again feed the machine.  I stare at my inventory and there lands the bag I wanted!  I give a quick glance to the rest of the room and run home.  So there I was standing in my house naked and bald but I have on great pair of boots and matching bag!  Then it just happened.  I saw the outfit and was able to dig around in my closet and pull it together.  I admit I had a moment of self doubt, should I wear jeans or not! My original choice in shorts was reaffirmed and I just let it be.  So here it is raw shots and all.  For the record I am loving the Vali Shirt by Miamai this is the second time it has ended up in my blog!

Saturday saw the release of Chod, the new Black Label Collection from the iconic fashion house Miamai. Monica Outlander reached for new levels of inspiration in her latest creations.   Delving into some of the darkest and lightest aspects of the human spirit Monica pulled out fears, nightmares, hopes and redemption as the cloth and thread in these stunning pieces.   This collection is not something you buy because you need it, trust me though you will want it.  It sparks in you a sense of adventure and fun in creating the perfect look.  It is daring and refreshing.  I enjoyed her use of pearls, lace, and butterflies.  Each piece can be worn alone or combined to create a presentation that is singular to the individual.  The collection is so wonderful that I will be presenting it through the coming week.  Today I present to you Riot wearing Begtse, and myself in Dakini, and the Dakini Headdress. Lets take a walk together.......
