A BEAUTIFUL DRESS FOR A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN

When I was passed a notecard explaining that Squinternet Larnia the designer of Donna Flora was at war with breast cancer first my heart broke because no woman or man should have to go through what she is.  Second I said a prayer for Squinternet.  Now thirdly I can show you a beautiful dress made in honor of a beautiful woman and explain how we all can help.  Friends of Squinternet have come together and started The Love Donna Flora Event which runs from July 25th through August 11th.  Monica Outlander of Miamai has created the beautiful Giulia Dress for the event.  The money from this event will help pay for  Squinternet's nursing care and living expenses.  I pray that the residents of Second Life stay true to their nature by heading to the event to shop and help in their own ways.  When there make sure to have a look at Miamai's Giulia dress.  It is simply gorgeous. If you have ever shopped at Donna Flora you will immediately see that Giulia is made in Squinternet's spirit.  Feminine, beautiful, and elegant, a dress to celebrate being a woman.

On a personal note my mother lost her battle with breast cancer on August 31st 1997.  I owe a debt to all of her doctors, nurses, and caregivers who were not only there for her but our entire family.  We would not have survived had it not been for their kindness and support. I honor the memory of my mother by helping those fighting breast cancer in what little ways I can.  One of them is by providing this one last link, Information about breast cancer. My mother would have adored this dress and hairstyle and she would hope that everyone educates themselves because this disease touches everyone's life eventually.

MONDAY MORNING

I woke up early Monday Morning refreshed and ready to attack my day.  I had a photo shoot that looked to be a long one with allot of close ups.  You know the kind where one sleepless night makes you look like an old crack addict!  To prevent the over use of the airbrush I decided to skip out on a weekend of clubbing with Allie.  Friday night she went running out the door in her pink shimmering Mila dress from Sick Puppy with her clutch in hand.  I spent my weekend with cucumbers on my eyes, conditioning treatments in my hair, getting a good nights sleep, and watching old black and white movies.  Not one sight of my bff all weekend and I must say it was a great weekend alone. So back to Monday Morning I was headed out to the street to hail a cab when one pulls up and Allie spills out giggling.  She pops up as fresh as a daisy with a huge grin saying, "You missed a fantastic weekend at the beach!"  I grabbed the cab door yelling to the driver to hold on because I needed a ride.  "What beach?  Where have you been?"  I started to ask then held up my hand.  "No wait I have a shoot.  Go do whatever, and I will be home around 7pm so you can tell me then."  I kissed her check and hopped in the cab.  "Glad you are alive and not some number on a body bag, and order Chinese for dinner tonight.  I have lived off sprouts and fruit all weekend."  She smiled to me then saluting sharply, "One order of Chinese Noodles in Peanut Sauce!  Anything else bossy butt?"  I laughed and nodded, "Wine plus a good story."  She closed the door as she gave one of her million dollar butter you up smiles, "Deal and by the way you look amazing in my new dress."  The cab driver made some offhand comment about the meter running so I shook my head, "My new Pam dress from {Capacious} you mean and stay out of my closet!"  The cab pulled out and I turned looking out the back window.  Allie stood there on the curb waving sweetly but her smile sure looked like a cat who ate the canary.   I still want to know what beach?

CRAB ATTACK

Here are more of the fashion shots for Epicosity.  When I handed them to Zarolin before the release she laughed.  I do not know what was so funny that crab hates me!  The {Epic} Monokini come in 3 color/fabric options all changeable through the Epicosity Hud System.    I had allot of fun mixing it up with the monokini huds since you can use them all together.   The Aviator Glasses I am wearing are by Vooza and so are the Flippity Flops for Slink mesh feet.  The glasses are a free gift and you can find them all at the Epicosity Beach party.
Now about this crab.  I ran down to the beach to take some photos for the release.  The day was warm and delightful so I decided to lay on a towel and get a little summer glow.  I heard what I can best describe as sand moving.  I looked up and a crab is staring at me.  It would not go away.  So I stood up to go get my feet wet and I swear I heard the theme song from Jaws!  I spun around and the crab lunged for me attacking with it claws!  Stupid crab!  The lifeguard hopped down and helped extract the crab from my toe.  Two hairbands latter the little jerk was secure in my beach bag on the way home for a little dip is a nice pot.  Dinner was delicious thank you and yes I am still limping!

BEACH TIME

This is one of the fashion shots I took for Epicosity showcasing the release of the {Epic} Monokini.  I am using it for my blog to show off Akeruka's Manuela skin in Chocolate.  I just love the makeup and skin high lightening.  Manuela in Chocolate comes in 6 makeups and has appliers available for Lolas Tango breasts.  The chocolate color is warm and smooth which is delightful.  If you have never found your way to Akeruka then I suggest you take the taxi I provided.  They have the most amazing male skins and their ladies skins are to die for.

HULLA

Miamai released a gorgeous gown named Hulla.  The bodice of delicately sewn sequins gives way to a luminous silk skirt, a stunning addition to your summer formal trousseau.  Hulla is available in a rainbow of colors and pairs nicely with a pair of heeled sandals.  I chose the group gift Candy Kisses from Chop Zuey for my jewels.  Candy Kisses delicate but still creates an impact on the over all style.  I really get a 50's feel from Hulla with a bit of mermaid whimsy thrown in.  I love how Moni  has the amazing ability to reach through time grabbing the soul and spirit of an era then designs stunning clothing for the modern woman.

BBQ ON THE BEACH

Allie and I were setting up for our Going Bust photo shoot when some dear friends of ours invited us to their place for a weekend BBQ to celebrate the 4th of July.  We said yes and had a wonderful time.  Good food, good friends, great wine, and much laughter.  Allie wore the American Girl Outfit by PeachBlossom and I just love how the jeans hugged her hips.  I wore 1 Hundred's Lacey Tank in Pink.  It was perfect for the hot weather and just sheer enough to let the silhouette of my waist show.  We sat on the beach drinking and talking till the sun went down then we were treated to a fireworks display over the ocean.  As I sat there on the beach watching the lights in the night sky I thought about how the Colonies of America fought for and won freedom.  How brave men came together under the threat of death in an act of treason against the crown of England willing to loose everything just to be free.  I thought about all the men and woman who gave their life not only for America but in the aid of other peoples around the world.  I realized that no matter what anyone says about the United States of America, we still are a nation based on the principles we were founded on.  We are far from perfect but I believe that each and every day we grow as people and a nation.  I am proud to be an American.  I am proud of our service men and women.  I am proud of the men and women who stand up for what they believe in.  Even if sometimes I disagree.  Because here in America you have the right to disagree.  All people have the right to be heard.  So to a nation attacked on so many fronts from within and without.  To all Americans and to the United States of America I wish a late Happy Birthday America. 

Last year I posted a little bit of the Declaration of Independence and decided that again this year I would repost those words and provide the link.  I post these words for all of the people around the world striving for freedom from tyranny, may these words inspire you.
