BBQ ON THE BEACH

Allie and I were setting up for our Going Bust photo shoot when some dear friends of ours invited us to their place for a weekend BBQ to celebrate the 4th of July.  We said yes and had a wonderful time.  Good food, good friends, great wine, and much laughter.  Allie wore the American Girl Outfit by PeachBlossom and I just love how the jeans hugged her hips.  I wore 1 Hundred's Lacey Tank in Pink.  It was perfect for the hot weather and just sheer enough to let the silhouette of my waist show.  We sat on the beach drinking and talking till the sun went down then we were treated to a fireworks display over the ocean.  As I sat there on the beach watching the lights in the night sky I thought about how the Colonies of America fought for and won freedom.  How brave men came together under the threat of death in an act of treason against the crown of England willing to loose everything just to be free.  I thought about all the men and woman who gave their life not only for America but in the aid of other peoples around the world.  I realized that no matter what anyone says about the United States of America, we still are a nation based on the principles we were founded on.  We are far from perfect but I believe that each and every day we grow as people and a nation.  I am proud to be an American.  I am proud of our service men and women.  I am proud of the men and women who stand up for what they believe in.  Even if sometimes I disagree.  Because here in America you have the right to disagree.  All people have the right to be heard.  So to a nation attacked on so many fronts from within and without.  To all Americans and to the United States of America I wish a late Happy Birthday America. 

Last year I posted a little bit of the Declaration of Independence and decided that again this year I would repost those words and provide the link.  I post these words for all of the people around the world striving for freedom from tyranny, may these words inspire you.

BEACH DAY

Allie called me last night asking if I would go to the beach with her.  She apologized for what she did to Mr. Shuffles and promised to do what ever it took to earn my forgiveness.  I slammed the phone down furious then about my business.  I had revenge on my mind so I grabbed the bottle of herbicide and I went for a walk!  When I finished my mission I threw the evidence in the trash behind the local market then headed home only to find Allie standing at my door with her pouty lip face waiting for me.  I sighed, opened the door, and invited her in.  After a long talk I finally just said, "Anything that happened before this moment we let it go!"  She agreed and we pinky swore like two little kids.  I decided that I would not tell her how I had just poured herbicide all over her prize winning snapdragons.  OOPS!  I think I can play stupid and I hope she does not connect the dots!  So we sat up drinking way to much wine and in the morning we headed off to the beach.  It was a great day even if we were hung over at first!  We had decided to take a photo when an ocean breeze tried to blow my hat off!  Just my luck.  Oh well we do look stunning in our Slip Off Suits from 1Hundred that are available at the Lubbly Jubblies sale at Cleavage!

TURTLE SOUP

After the wonderful funeral Allie set up for Mr. Shuffles she took me into her kitchen and sat me down to a bowl of soup.  She made homemade bread and served red wine then she sat back looking really satisfied as I ate.  I thanked her for her kindness trying really hard to not cry anymore.  It was a tasty soup, with a nice meaty broth that reminded me of chicken.  I loved how she garnished it with green onions and the chopped hard boiled eggs.  She slowly drinks her wine and tells me I look beautiful in my dress from LuVs and that she was glad I ate all my meal.  I was surprised by how hungry you get while crying I yawned lazily while commenting that I should have paid more attention to Mr. Shuffles.  She smiles and says to me, "No worries Mr. Stinky will be with you forever."  I looked at her and made a face because honestly Allie never liked Mr. Shuffles.  "Allie his name was Mr. Shuffles, and please, just do not be mean right now."  She twirled the wine in her glass then stood and cleared the table.  I watched her closely as she took her full bowl and dumped it down the garbage disposal followed by the entire pot of soup.  "What are you doing," I asked a little confused.  She turned looking really pleased then said in the meanest voice I have ever heard, "I hope my new soup recipe was good. I think I will name the soup Mr. Shuffles!"  I felt so sick to my stomach when I realized that Allie had fed me my pet turtle!  I grabbed my wine to throw in her face but I just could not ruin Daisy an amazing dress from Barely Legal Couture she was wearing.  Instead I threw my glass of red wine at her wall and left.  Trust me, I dug up Mr. Shuffles shell and she will pay for this!

MR. SHUFFLES

My pet turtle died!  It was horrible!  Allie says I starved him to death!  I did not mean to kill Mr. Shuffles I guess I forgot to feed him.  Allie felt so bad for me she held a turtle funeral.  She insisted we dress up fabulous and bury him properly on her land.  She was right so I wore Sick Puppy's Coco Dress and  Allie wore  the Chelsea Dress, Hat, and Pearls by :se:. available right now at Lubbely Jubblies.   She made him a head stone with a little dirt mound and even put a flower on his grave.  She then made me a solemn promise that as long as she owns her land, his grave will be untouched.  So we buried him and as you can see I was still crying when it was over.   I just feel so bad about this he was perfectly fine last time I saw him!  Allie said these things happen and the reason his shell was so light was because he was emaciated.  Well anyways Lubbly Jubblies is at Cleavage and ends July 13th so time is running out!  I have to go Allie said she made me a special soup to help me get over Mr. Shuffles.

OH WHAT A PILL.... aka EVERYTHING PILL

Many are very familiar with the name Monica Outlander, the stylish free spirit who is the main designer of Miamai.  Each new release thrills her customers and rounds out our wardrobes with fresh innovated designs, but many do not know Miamai is not Monica alone.  In the shadows creating and designing is an artist that most of us wear and have no idea is there, Pill Kanto.  For years now this man has worked with Monica creating amazing shoes, bags, and hats to enhance her designs.  Each new creation is a delight to Miamai's customers and many of them are essential pieces in my personal wardrobe.  Just to name a few of his creations that I adore are Camille, Madeline, Carmen, and Candy simply artwork for the ladies foot.   Though my favorite shoes by Pill are Exodus from the Black Label Collection.  These wonderful boots have surreal butterfly moths trapped in the heals giving an edge to any outfit that I style.  Pill also creates wonderful footwear for men, the Miles-Oxford Cap Toe Shoes, Rocka Suede Loafers, and Otis Shoes are classics.  These essential shoes are created for the well dressed man but also available in colors that can make a statement.  The hat I am wearing is his most recent release and I am not shy in saying that this hat is a 'must have' for both sexes this summer!  The Gatsby Hat comes with several options all accessed through an easy to use hud.  You can find the Gatsby Hat at L'accessoires in a variety of wonderful colors.  I named this blog 'Oh What A Pill' tongue in cheek but Pill is a kind creative soul.  I like what Momo said when she saw my picture, "Everything Pill!"  Take the time to discover everything designed by Pill.
