SAPPHIRE & CARLEY

New gowns by Miamai, new skin by Glam Affair, new poses by Ma Vie, and a jewelry find! Where does a girl begin? Okay so after allot of thought I decided to start with Miamai's new release. Sapphire is a stunning combination of a ball gown crossed with a bit of club wear sexy complete with sequins and split up the leg. Carley is a beautiful flowing gown with sequined bust that defies gravity and a sequined hemline. I really love these hybrid gowns for lack of a better way to explain them. In her unique way Monica Outlander pushes the envelope and reshapes what we think of as style. Both of these gowns can be used with or without Lola Tangos and again Miamai sets the standard in texturing enabling the customer to not be locked into one size of breasts to make the seams line up.

This month at Collabra 88 Aida of Glam Affair introduces us to a new skin, Laurel. With an almost retro lipstick color, and in the American skin shade, it lends itself to glamour and elegance. You can find Laurel in three jewel eye shadows and then the previously mentioned red lipstick version. One of my pleasures is collecting skins. Yes an expensive pleasure but one I enjoy and I adore Glam Affair. The delicate hand Aida Ewing uses in her shading leads you to imagine that the skin would be sensual and soft to the touch. With no harsh lines Glam Affair skins easily adapt to almost any shape. Aida has with authority and grace stepped to the forefront of the skin industry in SL. I also love how even though she releases less expensive skins at C88 and other sales venues she does not make them ridiculous, over tattooed, or completely silly and unusable for every day.

Ma Vie poses by Mavi Beck. Most of the poses I use are done by Mavi because I love her quirky sense of humor she shows in them and the fact that the avatar is not always staring right towards the center of the screen. With her new release, Supremely Unleashed her wit shines through with moments captured in time. In the second picture just using two of the new release poses I was able to capture a second during a ball when one woman grabs the arm of another to talk. Ma Vie poses are versatile and unique and I highly recommend them for anyone wishing to try their hand at SL photography.

Now for the jewelry find, The Golden Fleece. This is not a new jewelry store but an impressive one. As you can see the Pearl & Gemstones Clasp Necklace lays delicately upon the skin, each pearl strung with excruciating care. The gems are color change as is the metal and here is the jaw dropping part, it is only 30L. You will find a small but nice collection of jewelry for women and men, quality pieces with prices set amazingly low, it is worth stopping by The Golden Fleece to round off your jewelry collection. At the very least get yourself this great set of pearls.

SEXZ

Sometimes it feels like finding cute items for Lola Tango's can be a full time job, so when I have a craving to find a cute top I will spend hours scouring the discount sales, stores, and even other blogs. This week The Boobie Planet started their February round and ..:sexZ:.. joined in with the Skull-Print Cropped Corset Top in Pink for 50L. I had allot of fun coming up with a semi retro look for this top. I plan to keep an eye on Zee the designer for ..:sexZ:.., I love her focus on Pin Up and Rockabilly and look forward to see how she matures as a designer. I chose EarthStones Lora Necklace & Earrings in White Lace Agate and Silver for my jewelry. I love how delicate the set is and appreciate that it does not cut into my breasts. Right now Abraxxa has the earrings and necklaces in separate gatcha's at Earthstones for 75L it is only for this week so make sure to get in there asap and take a friend. Once the in store gatcha event is over these will go away so this is your only chance to get them!

LARAH & KHARMA

Miamai has released Larah, another amazing top with the tango applier option combined with a mesh attachment. I love the simplicity of the Larah top and how it can be paired with a nice pair of slacks like Miamai's Mahvi Pants for a evening at an art gallery, or a mini skirt for a night at the clubs. When styling this look I searched for a set of jewels that could work well with a sequin top, complete the look, and not fight for focus. Frustrated I took a break and went to see Chop Zuey's group gift and there they were, the perfect jewelry set in the Kharma Collection. As you can see they have a certain glamour of their own but compliment the styling instead of trying to over power the look. This is a fine line that I find jewelry designers often struggle with. The ability to make their items eye catching yet not so powerful you are gem blind and miss the great outfit the person is wearing. Belle Roussel walks this fine line with an ease and grace that is astonishing. Not to say that some of her items are not 'Oh my wow' because they are, and with the right gown or outfit her jewels take center stage in a styling. One of the things that I am constantly amazed over is the quality and frequency of Chop Zuey's gifts. As a designer her collections are simply sublime and the group cost of 350 is so worth the Lindens spent. I make a point of grabbing both the mens and women's gifts from Chop Zuey it is amazing how with just a little sizing a piece of mens jewelry makes a powerful impact on the feminine wardrobe!

FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH

Miamai opens a whole new world to us Tango Ladies. Often in SL the first thing you hear about women with prim or mesh breasts is that they are slutty. Oh so not true and Miamai blows this stereotype right out of the water. Miamai opens the world of high fashion to us and with a little thought and creativity the releases can be used in other ways. I styled a fun casual outfit that can be worn about or out to a club and challenge everyone to look outside the box when creating your look. Have fun and never let anyone trap you into a stereotype!

This blog is dedicated to my sister Michelle. One of the most beautiful women I have ever had the pleasure to meet. She is classy and talented. She is a Lady in all ways. I love you Michelle and keep styling and being yourself. You are perfect!

EMILIA REVISITED

I have blogged Miamai's Emilia Gown before but find myself wishing to revisit it simply because the gown is part of the Appliers for Lolas Tangos Release from Miamai. "It is a gorgeous strapless, formal length ball gown with unique cut outs to show a hint of flesh........How Monica layered the full flowing skirt to create a shimmer to the fabric as you move was truly inspired." I find it odd quoting myself but what I found lovely about this gown at first has only become more true with time, the Emilia Gown simply shimmers as you dance and move. I could go on and on but I will keep this short and let the gown speak for itself. Please remember that you have to purchase the dress and then the applier for the dress separately.

Oh quick note about the location, St. Illuminatious by Morphe Inc. an amazing Gothic Cathedral. The work took 3 months to complete and tops out at 4010 prims. The custom sculpt and shadow work will take your breath away. When you go to explore, make sure to allow the sims winlight settings and have your viewer set to Ultra. It is obvious this was a labor of love.

MIAMAI BUSTS OUT

Who would have thought the must have item for 2013 would be mesh breasts. When I saw Lola Tangos I was intrigued by the shape of them but put off by the size. After some investigation I discovered that the size was adjustable and I would be able to make them in proportion to my avatar. So I shelled out Lindens for them and then reality set in when I discovered most designers made their clothes for the max size only and it left my wardrobe choices very small. Another issue I had was in matching them to my skin. After a little work I got a passable skin match but I decided to live in sweaters. Then the most delightful news came, Glam Affair was doing skin appliers for the mesh breasts. Still my wardrobe choices were very limited due to the previous mentioned size texture issue. Finally sick of living in sweaters all the time I went larger but I had nothing to wear out to the Jazz Clubs. At this point I must point out there is a phenomenon with the mesh breasts. You suddenly can not imagine not having your avatar wear them. You feel your avatar is underdeveloped and the breasts are poorly shaped without them. While all this was going on I showed my breasts to Moni earning myself a new name which I will leave out of this blog. I mentioned appliers to her but given her response I had no hope of her making them for any of Miamai's clothing. Then much to my surprise Moni decided to make them. She had many requests from customers and this coupled with several of her friends and staff encouraging her to step into the market swayed her so here we are. Now if you know anything about Moni you know that she listens to the needs of her customers. She has never detached herself or forgot that her customers are her life blood. So she carefully selected gowns and dresses that enhanced the beauty of the breast. Then she made the appliers so that even those of us who like them smaller could wear the gowns and use the appliers without worry of the patterns not lining up. I am in Giorgia and for this shot I went to Miamai's new store located on the Sprout sim. If you have not gone and explored the store yet you should take the time to do so. She has some great group gifts out and the new store is simply stunning. Remember you have to purchase the dress and then the applier.
